Through this program, "friendly visitors" are matched with homebound LGBT seniors and adults with disabilities who make home visits to provide companionship and referrals to community resources.

Through this same program, monthly support groups and social activities are available for LGBT residents at Laguna Honda Hospital as well.

Who Is Eligible?

Individuals 60 years of age or older and individuals between 18 and 59 years of age that are living with disabilities.

How Can I Become a Volunteer?

Nonprofit New Leaf Services for Our Community recruits, trains and matches volunteers with LGBT seniors and adults with disabilities. Training includes active listening skills, community resources, how to advocate for consumers and brokering of services. To learn about volunteering, call (415) 343-0247.
