Thank you for your participation in the JOBS NOW! program. The program will be ending effective September 30, 2010 due to the expiration of federal stimulus funds.  As detailed in your JOBS NOW! Employer Agreement with the San Francisco Human Services Agency (SF-HSA), the wage subsidy provided to you by SF-HSA for each individual hired through the program will only be paid for hours worked through the end of September.

In order to be reimbursed for wages paid through September 30, 2010 your final invoice with documentation must be received by SF-HSA no later than October 15, 2010.  Invoices and supporting documentation (detailed instructions available below) should be mailed to:

The San Francisco Human Services Agency
P.O. Box 7988
San Francisco, CA 94120
Attn: Office of Contract Management, G-000

Although SF-HSA will no longer be able to reimburse you for employee wages paid under this program after September 30th, employers who retain their JOBS NOW participants after that date may be eligible to receive valuable hiring tax credits of up to 50% of the wages as part of a five year state credit and 100% of the City payroll tax as part of a 10 year credit.  To learn more about these savings, please contact SF Works at (415) 217-5193 or go to www.sfworks.org.  SF Works is a nonprofit that is affiliated with the Chamber of Commerce and assists local businesses to access their full hiring tax credits.

There is a possibility that the JOBS NOW! program may still be extended by Congress when they return from their summer recess in mid-September. While President Obama and the House of Representatives have both proposed to extend the program for one year with an additional appropriation of $2.5 billion, the Senate has not been able to muster enough votes to do so. If the Senate does not vote to extend this program, nearly a quarter million people nationwide are at risk of becoming unemployed.  If you would like to help prevent this from happening, you can urge the Senate to extend the TANF Emergency Contingency Fund (the funding source for subsidized employment programs like JOBS NOW! around the country). If the program is extended, SF-HSA will notify you of the opportunity to continue your participation.

Thank you again for your role in making the JOBS NOW! program a success.
