Human Services Agency of San Francisco
ACCESS (Accessible Child Care Expedited for the Shelter System) assists families with at least one child under 3 years of age who are living or have lived within the past six months in a San Francisco homeless or domestic violence shelter obtain child care to stabilize their situation and support their progression to transitional or permanent housing. Through a mix of child care centers and licensed family child care homes that meet specific standards of quality and receive city funded quality supports, ACCESS families are offered various child care options to meet the needs of their children and families. Families currently residing (or within the past 6 months) in an eligible San Francisco family homeless or domestic violence shelter with at least one child under 3 years of age may be referred to ACCESS by case managers who work in the family shelters.
