Government’s duty is to serve the public, reaching its decision in full view of the public. Commission, boards, councils and other agencies of the City and County exist to conduct the people’s business. This ordinance assures that deliberations are conducted before the people and that City operations are open to the people’s review.

Persons who are unable to attend the public meeting may submit to the Distribution Committee, by the time the proceedings begin, written comments regarding the subject of the meeting. These comments will be made part of the official public record, and brought to the attention of the Distribution Committee of the Zygmunt Arendt Estate and the Department of Human Services. Written comments should be submitted to the Executive Director of the Department of Human Services, Post Office Box 7988, San Francisco, CA 94120.

Public comment will be taken on each item being considered by the Committee prior to the Committee’s vote.

Interpreters for languages other than English are available upon request. Sign language interpreters are also available on request. For either accommodation, contact the office of the Secretary of the Executive Director of the Department of Human Services at 415/557-6540 at least two days before a meeting.

The Board’s meeting room, Ronald H. Born Auditorium, on the first floor at 170 Otis street has accessible seating for persons with disabilities. The closest accessible BART station is at 16^th and Mission. Accessible MUNI lines are the 14 Mission, 49 Mission/Van Ness, 26 Valencia and 9 San Bruno. All the MUNI Metro Lines are accessible. Accessible curbside parking has been designated at points on the 100 block of Otis Street. Large print copies of the agenda will be made available on request. Please contact the Secretary of the Executive Director of the Department of Human Services at 557-6540 at least two business days in advance of need. In order to allow individuals with environmental illness to attend the meetings, all are asked to refrain from wearing perfume or other scented products.

Alan Wong motioned to accept agenda. The motion was seconded by Holman Turner and unanimously adopted.

III. Adoption of Minutes of November 17^th, 2003

Alan Wong motioned to adopt the minutes of November 17^th, 2003.. The motion was seconded by Holman Turner and unanimously adopted.

IV. Update on 850 Broderick

Phil notified the Committee the purchase of 850 Broderick was moving forward. The next steps would include a hearing by the Finance Committee. Phil told the group that he would let them know when it will be scheduled.

Outstanding questions include costs of renovations and operations. The Dept. is currently pursuing MOCD funds for renovation costs.

Vera Haile and Pam Brennan suggested that the Committee begin to keep a sign in sheet for each meeting. The suggestion followed discussion regarding a past attendee wishing to offer public comment in regards to 850 Broderick.

V. Action Item: Review, discuss and determine funding recommendations for RFP 250: Disabled Children’s Organizations.

The Committee reviewed the initial recommendations and will continue deliberations at the February 2^nd meeting.

VI. Action Item: Review, discuss and determine recommendations regarding filling vacant positions for Distribution Committee Members.

The committee was presented with the resumes and applications of interested individuals in becoming members of the Distribution Committee of the Zygmunt Arendt Estate. The Committee will continue reviewing the applications and resumes and make a decision at the February 2, 2004 meeting.

VII. Adjourn

Alan Wong motioned to adjourn the meeting. The motions was seconded by Holman Turner. The motion was carried and the meeting was adjourned.
