Mr. Zygmunt Arendt, a former railroad worker, generously left his estate to the City and County of San Francisco. The Mayor and Board of Supervisors have designated the Department of Human Services (DHS) as the administrator of the estate. DHS has established a Distribution Committee, comprised of non-compensated community members, to oversee the distribution of funds in accordance with Mr. Arendt's wishes. The Distribution Committee of the Zygmunt Arendt Estate meet on a regular basis.
