Financial Assistance
Providing cash aid to people in need is a traditional role of social service agencies. In San Francisco, HSA administers federal, state and local programs to serve different groups of people in need. Assistance programs are designed as a “safety net” for those who, because of age, disability or other circumstances, are presently unable to support themselves. Whenever possible, cash aid is designed as a temporary assistance to help people in crisis develop or regain self-sufficiency.
