Check CalWORKs Eligibility

CalWORKs eligibility is based on: 

  • Children in the household:  There is one or more children under age 19 in the home, or if you are pregnant. You do not need to be a U.S. citizen to apply. 
  • Income and household needs:  Family size, income, property, other resources, and special needs. 
  • Welfare-to-Work participation:  In most cases, all family members on CalWORKs who are 18 or older participate in the Welfare-to-Work employment services program. We will help you create an individualized plan to succeed in work, training, school, or other activities.
