Physical Activity Programs

These programs help older adults and adults with disabilities remain healthy and independent while increasing their energy, improve their wellbeing and sense of community.  These programs incorporate movement, strength training, balance, and flexibility in a group setting. Classes are offered by our community partner Self Help for the Elderly and funded through the CalFresh Healthy Living grant.

Who is eligible

Older adults (60+) and people with disabilities  who live in San Francisco. 

Take free classes

View schedule and register for classes that meet twice or three times a week for five or six weeks: 

  • Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention: Developed by the Tai-chi for Health Institute.
  • Walk with Ease: Developed by the Arthritis Foundation
  • Bingocize: Developed by the Western Kentucky University Research Foundation, Inc.
