Muni Lifeline Pass

Free or discounted Muni passes provided by SFMTA.

If you are participating in one of our benefit programs or receiving services through another HSA initiative such as the Working Families Credit (WFC), you may qualify for transportation assistance through the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Authority (SFMTA) Muni Lifeline pass. The Lifeline Pass is a a Muni-only monthly pass for qualified customers on a limited income. The pass is offered at a 50% discount off the standard adult monthly pass price. How to Apply

Download and complete an application (English | Español | 中文) and bring it to the 170 Otis Street Service Center in addition to your Government Issued ID and Proof of Income Eligibility.  

If you receive CalWORKs, CAAP, CalFresh, or Medi-Cal benefits, you can obtain an award letter as proof of your income eligibility. For additional examples of acceptable verification documents, please refer to the SFMTA website.

Working Families Credit Recipients

All families who receive the Working Families Credit (WFC) are eligible to purchase one Muni Lifeline Fast Pass per qualifying individual, beginning with the month following receipt of your WFC payment.

If you received the WFC for the current tax year, you may request Form 8032B from the WFC Program to serve as proof of income eligibility for purchasing Muni Lifeline. If you have never received WFC or received it in a previous year, please refer to the SFMTA website for household income limits and proof of eligibility that will be accepted by SFMTA.
