DRAPERY WORKROOM PRODUCTION ASSISTANT (FT)

Job Description

This employer specializes in the custom fabrication and installation of wall upholstery, window treatments, and soft furnishings for high-end residential and commercial projects. Based in San Francisco, They are partner with interior design firms across the nation and provide comprehensive project support from consultation and measurement to detailed manufacturing and expert installation.


Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Production Assistant to support and oversee daily operations within our drapery workroom. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in custom window treatment fabrication, strong quality control skills, and the ability to coordinate workflow efficiently. This position is ideal for someone with leadership potential and a passion for craftsmanship in textiles and interior finishes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • After training assist in overseeing and coordinating daily workroom production
  • After training Maintain and enforce quality control standards throughout the fabrication process
  • After training Supervise and support sewing machine operators and other production staff
  • After training Monitor and manage workflow to ensure projects meet deadlines
  • After training Assist with fabric cutting, measurements, and layout planning as needed
  • After training Ensure accuracy in the fabrication of custom drapery, bedding, and soft goods
  • After training Communicate with management regarding progress, delays, or materials needed

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 6 months of experience managing staff
  • Knowledge of different styles and fabrication methods (pleats, shades, bedding, etc.)
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
  • Excellent time management and communication skills
