PRESCHOOL TEACHER AIDE FT

Job Description

This is a Mandarin immersion preschool looking for a full-time Teacher’s Aide to help run the school. This training to permanent position is responsible for successfully operating his or her classroom by assisting the Teacher, Head Teacher, Site Supervisor, and/or Director to ensure quality care and education are provided to their optimal level.

 

Duties:

·      Teaches a group of children ages 2 to 5

·      Provides auditory and visual supervision to children to ensure safety at all times

·      Supervises sign-in and sign-out sheets every day during the drop-off and pick-up of children

·      Practices confidentiality of student, family, school, and personnel information

·      Maintains classroom cleanliness and tidiness to promote an optimal learning environment

·      Assume an equal share of joint house-keeping responsibility at the school

·      Works with the Preschool Director, Supervisor, Teachers, and parents to provide service, instruction,

and communication excellence.

·      Attends all staff meetings, training, conferences, and other aspects of professional growth and

maintains current knowledge of early childhood practices

·      Changes diapers and assists with toilet training

·      Prepares, serves, and cleans after meals and snacks, following health and sanitation standards

·      Maintain a professional attitude and personal hygiene

·      Other duties as assigned.

 

 Minimum Qualifications:

·      Actual classroom teaching experience preferred.

·      Completion of 6 units or more core Child Development/Early Childhood Education Courses (Child

Development, Early Childhood Education Principles, Early Childhood Education Curriculum, Child

Family and Community) preferred but not required.

·      Current Department of Justice/FBI Child Abuse Index Clearance (Livescan) required.

·      Recent tubercular clearance (within the past six months)

·      Willing to get CPR, First Aid, and Health and Safety Training Certification.

·      Health examination upon employment.

·      Regular attendance and punctuality are an essential functions of the job.

·      Must be able to lift and move a child up to 40 pounds occasionally.

·      Bilingual in Mandarin is a plus but not required.

 

 Schedule:

·   32-40 hrs. a week. Monday to Friday.

·   Shifts vary based on availability.

·   Business Hours: 7:30 am-6 pm
