PRESCHOOL TEACHER AIDE FT

This is a preschool in Outer Sunset looking for a full-time aide to help run the school. This training to permanent Aideposition is responsible for the successful operation of his or her classroom by assisting the Teacher, Head Teacher, Site Supervisor and/or Director to ensure quality care and education is provided to its optimal level.

Duties:

·      Teaches a group of children ages 2 to 5

·      Provides auditory and visual supervision to children to ensure safety at all times

·      Supervises sign-in and sign-out sheets every day during the drop-off and pick-up of children

·      Practices confidentiality of student, family, school and personnel information

·      Maintains classroom cleanliness and tidiness to promote an optimal learning environment

·      Assume an equal share of joint house-keeping responsibility at the school

·      Works with the Preschool Director, Supervisor, Teachers and parents to provide excellence in service, instruction and communication.

·      Attends all staff meetings, trainings, conferences, other aspects of professional growth and maintains current knowledge of early childhood practices

·      Changes diapers and assists with toilet training

·      Prepares, serves and cleans after meals and snacks, following health and sanitation standards

·      Maintain a professional attitude and personal hygiene

·      Other duties as assigned.

 Minimum Qualifications:

·      A minimum of 1 year actual classroom teaching experience preferred.

·      Completion of 6 units or more core Child Development/Early Childhood Education Courses (Child Development, Early Childhood Education Principles, Early Childhood Education Curriculum, Child Family and Community) preferred.

·      Current Department of Justice/FBI Child Abuse Index Clearance (Livescan) required.

·      Recent tubercular clearance (within past six months)

·      Current CPR, First Aid, and Health and Safety Training Certification for full-time employees preferred.

·      Health examination upon employment.

·      Regular attendance and punctuality are on essential function of the job

·      Must be able to lift and/or move a child up to 40 pounds occasionally

 Schedule:

·      Full-time: 32-40 hrs a week. Monday to Friday, 7am-6pm.

·      Shift varies based on availability.
