PRESCHOOL TEACHER PT

This is a preschool looking for a part-time Teacher’s Aide to help running the school. The Preschool Assistant Teacher/Teacher’s Aide is responsible for the successful operation of his or her classroom by assisting the Teacher, Head Teacher, Site Supervisor and/or Director to ensure quality care and education is provided to its optimal level.

Duties:

·      Teaches a group of children ages 2 to 5

·      Provides auditory and visual supervision to children to ensure safety at all times

·      Supervises sign-in and sign-out sheets every day during the drop-off and pick-up of children

·      Practices confidentiality of student, family, school and personnel information

·      Maintains classroom cleanliness and tidiness to promote an optimal learning environment

·      Assume an equal share of joint house-keeping responsibility at the school

·      Works with the Preschool Director, Supervisor, Teachers and parents to provide excellence in service, instruction and communication.

·      Attends all staff meetings, trainings, conferences, other aspects of professional growth and maintains current knowledge of early childhood practices

·      Changes diapers and assists with toilet training

·      Prepares, serves and cleans after meals and snacks, following health and sanitation standards

·      Maintain a professional attitude and personal hygiene

·      Other duties as assigned.

 Minimum Qualifications:

·      A minimum of 1 year actual classroom teaching experience preferred

·      Completion of 6 units or more core Child Development/Early Childhood Education Courses (Child Development, Early Childhood Education Principles, Early Childhood Education Curriculum, Child Family and Community)

·      Current Department of Justice/FBI Child Abuse Index Clearance (Livescan) required.

·      Recent tubercular clearance (within past six months)

·      Health examination upon employment

·      Regular attendance and punctuality are on essential function of the job

·      Must be able to lift and/or move a child up to 40 pounds occasionally

 ·     Possibility of becoming a full-time position.

 Schedule:

·  20-31 hrs a week. Monday to Friday.

. Shift varies based on availability.
