RPD PST Custodial Asst. TRN

San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department (SFRPD) is committed to providing clean, safe, and welcoming parks, recreation centers, and public facilities that enhance the quality of life for San Francisco residents and visitors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·        Assisted with cleaning and sanitizing recreation centers, restrooms, and public facilities.

·        Performed routine custodial duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal.

·        Maintained cleanliness and appearance of indoor and outdoor recreation spaces.

·        Replenished restroom and facility supplies to support daily operations.

·        Utilized cleaning equipment and materials in accordance with established safety procedures.

·        Assisted with facility setup, breakdown, and special event support activities.

·        Reported maintenance, safety, and sanitation concerns to supervisory staff.

·        Supported department efforts to provide safe, clean, and accessible public facilities.

·        Performed routine inspections of assigned areas to ensure cleanliness standards were maintained.

·        Assisted staff with general facility upkeep and environmental maintenance activities.

·        Restroom and facility sanitation procedures

Minimum Qualifications

·        Commitment to completing a 6 –12-month training

·        Interest in facility services, sanitation, or environmental maintenance

·        Ability to follow verbal instructions and safety protocols

·        Punctual, reliable, and receptive to coaching

Preferred Qualifications

·        Prior experience with cleaning, event support, or maintenance roles

·        Willingness to perform physically demanding work

·        Comfortable working with the public in shared spaces
