SERVICE TECHNICIAN/HELPER PT

Job Description

This employer is a local minority and woman-owned and operated porta-potty rental company that provides standard and handicapped accessible portable toilets and hand washing stations to construction sites, private businesses, small parties, and large events throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. We are looking for a part time Service Technician/Helper to assist drivers in going various locations to service/pump/clean portable restrooms or holding tanks. This is the heart of our business. Company is looking to hire hardworking and dedicated people from the community who want to work for a African-American woman-owned business and grow with the company.

DUTIES:

  • Assist with conducting daily pre-shift & post-shift vehicle inspection & report deficiencies to shop immediately. Also, report improper operation, faulty equipment, and unusual conditions to the Service Technician/Mechanic/Operations Supervisor/Manager.
  • Assist Service Technician/Driver in servicing/pumping/cleaning portable restrooms or holding tanks.
  • Assist with maintaining telephone or radio contact with Operations Coordinators to receive additional instructions, changes to work locations, etc.
  • Service portable restrooms, holding tanks, sinks, etc., at various work sites by following the Company's servicing guidelines.
  • Restock paper products, hand sanitizer, soap, etc. in units being serviced.
  • Clean interior and exterior of units and add chemical solution to portable restroom units.
  • Follow all established safety rules & regulations.
  • Provide support to Service Technician to ensure safe operation of the service truck in the plants and refineries (example: spotter when backing up, etc.).
  • Perform Pre and Post Inspections of vehicles and equipment used for servicing.
  • Perform duties by sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling. 
  • Perform lifting/pushing between 30 and 50 lbs. on a frequent basis during work shift. 
  • Ability to be flexible in order to meet customer needs when routes need to be adjusted or changed.
  • Special/Other projects as assigned by management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Be able to walk up to 30 minutes at a time without exertion.
  • Enter and exit equipment (work vehicles) by stepping and kneeling.
  • Lift up to 40lbs from your waist to your shoulders.
  • Lift 30lbs from the floor to your head.
  • Crouch and squat.
  • Push and pull 35 to 50lbs horizontally.
  • Must speak fluent English.
  • Ability to take photos and document repairs and issues while servicing
  • Ability to complete forms and required paperwork.
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Speak clearly so customers can understand.
  • Ability to follow instructions utilizing DOT guidelines.
  • Ability to make decisions in case of emergency

SCHEDULE:

Applicants should have availability Monday - Friday from 6:00 AM - 12:00 Noon. Full time hours may be available in the future depending on employee availability and business need.
