Village Programs

A membership organization providing programs and services that allow people to age in their own homes while leading active and engaging lives.

The Village Program is a recent and rapidly growing model of senior services programming that promotes independent living. In San Francisco, adults with disabilities aged 18 to 59 are also welcome to join local Village programs. The model is a membership organization through which paid staff and a volunteer cadre coordinates a wide array of services and socialization activities for members. Activities may be hosted in members’ homes or at various locations in the community. The original Village began in Boston in 2001.
