Director, Communications

Teresa leads our Agency’s Communications team, where she develops, manages, and implements a comprehensive, multi-channel communications strategy to enhance awareness of SFHSA’s community services and mission. Teresa comes to us from the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, where she served as Creative and Digital Strategy Communications Manager and managed a team of strategic communications experts that provided content development, multimedia storytelling, brand and identity, digital marketing, social media, and digital product transformation initiatives.

Throughout the pandemic, Teresa supported San Francisco's COVID-19 response, leading the Joint Information Center’s Strategic Communications Team at the COVID Command Center and partnering with BIPOC-led community-based organizations to develop and deploy multi-lingual COVID-19 public health messaging campaigns. Earlier in her career, she worked at PG&E as a Communications Principal focused on emergency communications, the University of San Francisco as a Senior IT Project Manager, and in various marketing and communications roles in the healthcare and technology sectors.

Born and raised in San Francisco, Teresa is raising two young children in the City and is committed to her hometown and its future. She is also an outdoor enthusiast (hiking, fishing, camping), long-distance runner, foodie, coffee lover, and science fiction geek.
