KITCHEN HELPER FT

An Asian Fusion restaurant is looking for a Kitchen Helper. You start as a Kitchen Helper and can move up to management. Training will be provided.

Duties:

- Prepare dishes according to specifications in a timely and accurate fashion

- Maintain the cleanliness of the restaurant.

- Responsible for cutting vegetables, meats and food preparations

- Set up and close up the kitchen.

- Stock and maintain supplies and equipment

- Maintain sanitation and hygiene standards

- Apply basic knife skills required for preparation of hot and cold foods

- Breakdown work station and complete closing duties:

- Return all food items to the proper storage areas;

- Rotate all returned product wrap cover label and date all item being put away;

- Straighten up organize all storage areas clean up and wipe down food prep areas reach ins/walk ins and shelves;

- Return all unused and clean utensil/equipment to the specified locations;

- Ice down hot items from the steam table so they cool quickly; turn off all equipment not needed for the next shift;

-   Maintains constant awareness of safety issues, (i.e. broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks and suspicious persons)

Minimum Qualifications:

- Have some kitchen experience but not necessarily Chinese cuisine.

- Can speak Basic English. Spanish clients with limited English are welcome to apply.

- Can remain clear-headed under pressure.

- Have good stamina and be able to keep on one's feet for long periods of time.

- Able to work fast with your hands and can multitask

Schedule:

-         32 – 40 hours a week. Shift schedule is assigned weekly.

-         Monday to Sunday, 10:30-2pm, 4:30pm-8:30pm.
