GELATO COUNTER SERVER

Job Description

A beloved neighborhood shop open for 22 years, is hiring full‑time Counter Server. We serve authentic Italian gelato, smoothies, milkshakes, crepes, sundaes, and more in a fast‑paced, fun, and customer‑focused environment. We love our community and are looking for dependable team members who take pride in doing quality work.


DUTIES:

  • Scoop gelato and assist customers with menu selections
  • Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions accurately
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized shop
  • Learn the full menu within 3 weeks
  • Follow directions well and communicate clearly
  • Multitask and work efficiently once trained
  • Maintain strong personal hygiene and arrive on time
  • Provide friendly, professional customer service
  • Support the shop’s philosophy of serving delicious gelato in a clean, welcoming environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Able to commit to working at this company for at least one year
  • Fluent or conversational in Spanish
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Detail‑oriented, organized, and a good listener
  • Fast, efficient, and able to multitask in a busy environment
  • Weekend and night availability required
  • Previous food service experience is a plus but not required
  • High school diploma or equivalent

SCHEDULE:

  • Nights and weekends required
  • Tuesday-Sunday

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • Pay: $19.18 per hour plus gratuity
  • Paid vacation:
    • 1 week after 2 years of full‑time employment
    • 2 weeks after 3 years
  • Sick pay
