Job Description

We are a gallery that creates limited-edition art, furniture, jewelry, and home décor from original Golden Gate Bridge steel. Our products are handcrafted in San Francisco and sold at festivals, street fairs, special events, and in our Fisherman's Wharf gallery.


We are seeking an outgoing, dependable Sales Associate / Brand Ambassador to help share our story and promote our products throughout the Bay Area. This position is centered around street fairs, art festivals, wine festivals, and other special events, with gallery shifts filling the schedule between events.

Major Duties:

At Street Fairs and Events:

·        Transport merchandise, displays, and equipment to events

·        Set up and break down festival booths

·        Represent Golden Gate Furniture Co. and Made in San Francisco in a professional and engaging manner

·        Share the story behind the Golden Gate Bridge steel and our products

·        Process sales using GoDaddy POS

·        Maintain an attractive and organized booth throughout the event

·        Assist with loading and unloading inventory and display equipment

 

At the Gallery:

·        Welcome and assist customers

·        Process sales using Square POS

·        Maintain a clean, organized, visually appealing store

·        Restock and straighten displays throughout the day

·        Open and close the gallery

·        Share the stories behind our artists, makers, and products


Training & Professional Development

Minimum Qualifications:

·        Strong English communication and customer service skills

·        Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record (Company vehicle provided)

·        Ability to lift and move 35+ pounds

·        Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable engaging with customers

·        Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated

·        Comfortable working independently

·        Retail, hospitality, gallery, event, or customer service experience preferred

·        Interest in art, design, local manufacturing, or San Francisco history is a plus

 

Job Schedule:

·        Gallery operating hours are 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily.

·        This position's schedule varies based on the event calendar, as the primary focus is supporting street fairs, art festivals, wine festivals, and other special events throughout the Bay Area.

·        Weekend and holiday availability is required; however, employees are not necessarily scheduled every weekend or holiday. Scheduling flexibility is available because shifts can be shared among team members.

·        During weeks without events, employees typically work shifts at our Fisherman's Wharf gallery. Event days may begin early for setup and extend into the evening, depending on the event schedule.
