OPERATIONS LEAD/MANAGER IN TRAINING

Job Description

Company Bio:

We’re a neighborhood beauty studio in Cow Hollow, offering nails, facials, and massages under one roof on Union Street. We’re polished without being formal, and we care about the details—both the ones’ guests notice and the ones they don’t. Our team communicates, supports one another, and genuinely enjoys the day.

Our downstairs floor serves manicures, pedicures, facials, and a front desk that rarely sits still. Upstairs is our massage level, with eight treatment rooms, a licensed therapist team, long-term regulars, and a calmer pace.

This role is based downstairs and supports both floors. It begins hands‑on at the front desk, learning the daily operations, and is designed to grow into management as you learn the business. The position starts at $25–$28 per hour, with growth potential up to $40 per hour and a monthly bonus of up to $500.

Our team is diverse and multilingual, and much of the work involves making sure information is clearly understood, noticing when something is off, and following it through.

Major Duties:

Most of your week is spent on the floor, keeping the day running smoothly:

•     Welcoming guests and checking them in and out

•     Phones, texts and appointments in Booker

•     Schedule changes, cancellations and filling in open time

•     Rebooking, and explaining memberships and promotions when they fit

•     Answering guest questions and resolving problems before they grow

•     Supporting nail techs, estheticians and therapists

•     Opening, closing and reconciling the day's payments

•     Training new front desk staff

The massage floor is part of the job, not an afterthought. You'll check in regularly with the coordinator and therapists, keep an eye on the upstairs schedule and open time, and follow up with guests. On the coordinator's days off, the downstairs desk looks after the massage floor: its schedule, therapists, guests and daily operations. We want massages to feel as well supported as nails.

As you learn the business, your responsibilities expand into management, including:

•     Scheduling and staff coverage across both floors

•     Timekeeping, payroll and tip preparation

•     Reviewing daily close-outs

•     Reading business reports and acting on them

•     Hiring, onboarding and training

•     Refining front desk systems and procedures

•     Rebooking, retention, memberships and schedule utilization

•     Day-to-day oversight of both floors

None of this is expected on day one. We're looking for someone who wants to understand the operation as a whole and, over time, run it with confidence.

Minimum Qualifications:

·        Fluent in English

·        Relevant experience in spas, salons, nail salons, hotels, restaurants, med spas, or fitness studios

·        Highly organized, attentive, and able to remain composed in a busy environment

·        Skilled in guest service, including confidently recommending appropriate services

·        Detail‑oriented, comfortable with numbers, and able to learn new systems quickly

·        Able to make sound decisions and follow tasks through to completion

·        Curious about the overall business and how operations function beyond your own shift

·        Experience with Booker/Mindbody, scheduling, payroll, or staff coordination is beneficial but not required

Job Schedule:

·        Business hours: 10:30am–7:00pm. Your schedule will typically fall within these hours and will not begin earlier than 9am or end later than 9pm without notice. We’re looking for some flexibility based on candidate availability and coverage needs.

·        One weekend day—Saturday or Sunday—is required.

Benefits:

·        Paid sick leave: We currently provide 40 hours of sick time upfront, with usage beginning after the initial 90-day period.
