About

The Advisory Council advises the Disability and Aging Services Commission on all matters relating to the development, administration, and operations of its area plan, including needs assessments, priorities, programs, budgets, and other matters relating to the well-being of the population served within the scope and spirit of federal, state, and local regulations, laws, and ordinances.

Advisory Council meetings are held on the third Wednesday of every month at 10 am and are open to the public.

Members

The Advisory Council consists of 22 members, 11 appointed by the Disability and Aging Services Commission, and the remaining half appointed by each of the 11 Supervisors. As mandated by the provisions of the Older Americans Act of 1965, as amended, and City Ordinance 500-80, the Advisory Council is structured so that it represents the population served to the greatest extent feasible.
