County Veterans Service Office (CVSO)

If you are a veteran or a dependent of a veteran, you may be entitled to benefits from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. We're here to help you get those benefits by managing your entire claim process. We also serve as your advocate with government agencies and help obtain your military records if needed. 

We urge you to apply for the benefits listed below as soon as possible. If eligible, you'll receive benefits retroactively.

Education benefits

Due to COVID-19 we are temporarily changing our process for College Fee Waivers. Please email the required documents to SFCVSO@sfgov.org or fax to (415) 355-2468. If you are a student that does not have a Statement of Non-Filing from the IRS or State Franchise Tax Board, please submit form VSD-022 with the fee waiver request. Applicants will be notified by mail if their fee waiver has been approved.
