How to use your CalFresh EBT card

In San Francisco, CalFresh benefits are distributed via the Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards, also known as the Golden State Advantage card. The EBT card is used like a debit card with a four-digit PIN and it offers privacy when making purchases.

  • Report a lost or stolen card: Call (415) 558-4700 immediately.
  • Check your EBT balance: Call (877)-328-9677 or download the free Fresh EBT app to your smartphone to check online.
  • Protect your EBT: Always keep your PIN and EBT card number secret. If you receive a text or phone call asking for your card and PIN numbers, do not provide your information. Contact us immediately at (415) 558-4700.
