In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) IHSS Switches from Paper to Electronic Timesheets

The federal government has set a deadline in 2020 for completing the switch to electronic timesheets, also referred to as Electronic Visit Verification (EVV).

All IHSS Care Recipients and Care Providers must switch from paper to electronic timesheets by the end of October 2020. Those who do not enroll by October 15, 2020 will be sent a letter for automatic enrollment in the Telephone Timesheet System (TTS). The letter will include an option to change the TTS passcode and/or to enroll in the online version called the IHSS Electronic Services Portal. To prevent service interruption and Provider payment delays, all IHSS Providers and Recipients should enroll now.

For community partners: Visit our Resources page for the tools to help you serve IHSS Care Recipients and Care Providers.

Enroll now to get the benefits of using electronic timesheets

  • Faster Provider payment
  • Fewer timesheet errors
  • No more paper or postage costs

Ways to enroll

  • Online: Providers and Recipients should visit the IHSS Electronic Services Portal to enroll in the Electronic Timesheet System (ETS).
  • By phone: Recipients also have the option to approve timesheets by phone rather than online. Call IHSS at (415) 557-6200 to enroll in the Telephone Timesheet System (TTS).
