County Adult Assistance Programs (CAAP)

CAAP offers cash assistance and employment services to low-income adults with no dependent children and to qualifying immigrants.

Coronavirus updates for CAAP benefit recipients

  • IRS stimulus payments: CAAP does NOT manage or distribute federal stimulus payments. Learn more from the IRS. 
  • Work requirements: All CAAP work requirements are suspended. Recipients can get aid without having to participate in work activities. 
  • Renewals:  The deadline for CAAP benefit renewal has been extended for six months for recipients with renewal due dates in March, April, May, and June 2020. During the extension period, recipients will continue to receive the same level of benefits without interruption.

CAAP provides up to $588 a month and other benefits for services including employment training and placement, free MUNI pass, and counseling.
