County Adult Assistance Programs (CAAP)

CAAP provides cash assistance to low-income adults without dependent children, adults that cannot work, and refugees.

CAAP offers cash assistance and employment services for low-income San Franciscans with no dependent children (including those who cannot work) and qualifying immigrants and refugees.

CAAP issues benefits on the first of each month through an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card. The card can be used at participating stores and restaurants like a bank card or to withdraw cash at various surcharge-free ATM machines throughout San Francisco.

If you are currently employed, you may still be eligible for benefits. Our staff will work with you to identify what benefits and services within CAAP you may be eligible for, and they will be available to you throughout the process to answer any questions you may have.

Need help finding a job, learning new skills or a place to stay? CAAP can help you. Visit our pages below or review our CAAP Fact Sheet.
