County Adult Assistance Programs

County Adult Assistance Programs (CAAP) provide cash assistance to low-income adults without dependent children, adults that cannot work, and refugees.

County Adult Assistance Programs (CAAP) provide cash assistance and employment services for low-income San Franciscans with no dependent children, including those who cannot work, and qualifying immigrants and refugees. The program issues benefits on the first of each month through an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card, that can be used at participating stores and restaurants like a bank card or to withdraw cash at various surcharge-free ATM machines throughout San Francisco. If you are currently employed, you may still be eligible for benefits. Our staff will work with you to identify what benefits and services within CAAP you may be eligible for, and they will be available to you throughout the process to answer any questions you may have.

If you need help finding a job or a place to stay and are interested in learning new skills, CAAP can help you.

Visit the pages below or review our CAAP Fact Sheet for more information on the types of benefits that may be available to CAAP participants and how to apply.
